Membership is open to any person in a management position at a credit union/caisse in Manitoba. Membership is personal and portable within the Manitoba credit union system.

To provide a forum for credit union managers to enhance their executive skills and ethical standards; to share ideas; and to promote a co-operative relationship among association members.

-To provide a forum where association members can broaden their knowledge and management skills, and exchange ideas.

-To develop and promote ethical standards and rules of conduct.

-To promote the implementation of sound business practices.

-To promote the active involvement of association members in credit union system affairs and activities.

-To provide an effective channel of communication, including the establishment of co-operative working relationships between association members; Credit Union Central; La Federation; and other co-operative organizations.

-To promote the co-operative philosophy and principles upon which credit unions were founded.

-To support credit union system activities which contribute to the personal and professional development of association members.

-To provide a forum for association members to discuss problems, issues and concerns that relate to their duties and responsibilities as managers.

The Credit Union Managers Association has adopted a code of ethics and rules of professional conduct for credit union executives. This code of ethics provides uniform rules and principles of professional conduct and ethics by which members will conduct themselves in discharging their professional duties and responsibilities.

These rules apply to all members of the Credit Union Managers Association. Any member who contravenes any of these rules and/or principles shall be accountable to the board of directors of the Credit Union Managers Association.

An association member shall always be mindful of his/her responsibility as a professional credit union executive and shall fulfil his/her duties with fidelity to members and employers; with fairness to employees and with loyalty to the association, in a manner worthy of a professional credit union executive.
